Ashika has a great depth of experience since her admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court in New Zealand in 1999. Ashika returned to her native South Africa and served on the Board of Directors of a large firm there for many years.

It was always Ashika’s goal to return to New Zealand and having done so she has re-established herself in practice with Denham Bramwell.

Ashika takes great pride in finding a solution to her client’s by listening and engaging with clients patiently and with empathy. Ashika’s speciality is family law with a focus on relationship property including ownership by the parties either personally or jointly with trusts or companies, contracting out agreements, parenting disputes and conveyancing. Ashika offers her clients the best solution to a problem depending on the complexity of the dispute and her clients’ needs. With a pragmatic and robust approach, Ashika believes that a solution must be client focused and if children are involved, the outcome must be in the child’s best interest. Sometimes emotions cloud judgement during the trying legal dispute, but with a focused approach, Ashika and her team lead you to the best outcome.

Ashika also served as Vice President of a law society in South Africa and chaired various committees including the Courts Liaison committee and Human Resource Committee and lead various inquiries into allegations of misconduct against practitioners. Ashika has a strong focus on achieving the best results for her clients and it is this quality that has earned Ashika numerous accolades and awards for driving her firm to the position of top performer.

Ashika leads the firm’s expanded office on the scenic and picturesque Hibiscus Coast in Auckland. Ashika lives on the North Shore, is married to Neal and has 3 children.
