A founding Partner of the firm, Peter practices in the area of Civil Litigation and declares that he is quite charming until you get on the wrong side of him.
Civil Litigation involves non-criminal court work and advice. It is a very wide ranging field and Peter is from time to time engaged in alternative dispute resolution processes, commercial disputes, general civil litigation, appeal work, debt recovery enforcement of security, insurance disputes, Commerce Act and Fair Trading Act matters, company receivership and liquidation issues, building and construction disputes, employment Law and health and safety matters. The variety of work is a particular pleasure for Peter.
Peter’s background is in the commercial world. After leaving university Peter spent some years working in the UK and Europe in sales and marketing roles and was subsequently headhunted by a Danish multi-national to run their English and Irish operations. Peter returned to New Zealand in his mid-thirties so that his young family could grow up here and for ten years ran his own printing company before turning back to legal practice. Peter initially practiced as a barrister in chambers with Fiona and Sarah now also partners before the formation of Denham Bramwell.
He encourages people to listen to themselves and be honest with themselves – try to understand your personal processes and be real with those you deal with. Nowadays Peter presents exactly who he is to the world, human, reliable, professional and competent.
