Rebecca graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (majoring in psychology) in 2013, and started working at a specialist family law firm in Napier in 2014. After two years working in the Hawkes Bay, Rebecca moved to Auckland to continue her legal career, with an ongoing focus in family law. While working full time as a lawyer Rebecca studied towards her Masters in Bioethics and Health Law through the University of Otago, and graduated with Distinction in 2018. As part of these studies she completed a dissertation examining the legal and bioethical position of clinicians treating children living in a violent household.
Rebecca aims to help her clients find a legal solution that works for them and their family. When it comes to family breakdown it can be all too easy to get caught up in the emotions and stress of the immediate situation. Rebecca strives to keep her clients focussed on the long term outcomes that they want for themselves, their children and their whanau.
When Family Court intervention is required Rebecca is able to guide her clients through the legal process, and advocate effectively for them in Court. The Family Court can be an intimidating and confusing place, and Rebecca ensures that her clients have a complete understanding of their options.
